The Administrative Litigation Court 3 of Granada has decided to temporarily suspend only one of the measures adopted by the Governing Council of the University of Granada (UGR) concerning scientific-technical collaboration and mobility with Israeli universities and institutions. The suspended measure pertains to halting scientific-technical cooperation in research consortia promoted by the European Commission involving the UGR and Israeli partners. The Association for Action and Communication on the Middle East (ACOM) requested the temporary suspension of three points of the agreement approved on May 17 by the Governing Council of the University of Granada (UGR).
The magistrate argued that this measure would prevent researchers from these institutions from using UGR’s infrastructures and would negatively impact research stays.
The rest of the UGR’s agreements, which include the suspension of student, faculty, and researcher mobility, as well as the suspension of agreements and summer courses with Bar-Ilan and Tel-Aviv universities, and the commitment not to sign new agreements with these institutions, remain in force.
The judicial measure will remain in effect until a final ruling is issued or the process concludes for another legal reason.
