The Provincial Council of Granada has taken a decisive financial step toward the construction of the long-awaited Sénior Tropical care facility in Almuñécar. During a recent session, the Governing Council of the Provincial Tax Service approved a budgetary modification proposal aimed at directing €16,107,768 entirely from the institution’s own treasury surplus, eliminating the need for external commercial loans or bank financing.

The funding allocation plan is scheduled to be submitted for final plenary approval at the upcoming Provincial Council meeting. Once cleared through the plenary session, the administration will officially open the contracting procedures to launch the construction of the large-scale residential complex.

Conceived as a premier regional facility for senior care, the Sénior Tropical center will provide comprehensive accommodation, health support, and long-term care infrastructure for 320 residents. Located on the Costa Tropical, the modern complex is designed to meet the growing demand for specialized elderly care services in the region, ensuring year-round support and enhanced quality of life for older adults.
