The municipality of Motril is gearing up for a vibrant Halloween campaign that blends mystery, local history, and street celebrations across the city. Municipal departments for Youth, Events, and Industrial Sugar Heritage have coordinated a multi-faceted agenda featuring theatrical heritage tours, a central street parade, and traditional haunted house attractions.

A major highlight of this year’s programming takes place at the historic Fábríca de Nuestra Señora del Pilar. From October 28 through October 31, the industrial complex will host ‘El fantasma de la fábrica’ (The Ghost of the Factory), a series of dramatized mystery tours designed for all audiences. Rather than a conventional horror maze, the initiative weaves real historical events from 1889 with an intriguing fictional narrative. Guided sessions will run daily at 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM with free entry on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to 25 participants per group.

On October 31, festive activity will shift toward the town center starting at 7:00 PM with a spooky parade departing from Plaza de España. Featuring monster characters and local youth, the procession will wind through main streets before concluding at the municipal Tourism Office.

Following the parade, visitors can access the annual Haunted Passage set up in the basement of the Tourism Office, while Plaza de las Comunidades Autónomas hosts a themed live DJ set through midnight to complete the evening’s festivities.
