Municipal authorities across the Costa Tropical have completed an intensive maintenance and logistics campaign to ready local cemeteries for the upcoming All Saints’ and All Souls’ celebrations. Coordinated efforts between various local departments have focused on ensuring that both facilities offer optimal conditions for the large crowds expected during the traditional holiday.
According to municipal coordination plans, the cemeteries in Almuñécar and La Herradura will implement an extended 24-hour opening schedule starting October 30 through November 2, returning to standard closing hours at 6:00 PM on November 3.
To manage traffic and improve accessibility, special transport and parking measures have been rolled out in Almuñécar. A dedicated shuttle bus service will operate on November 1 from La Carrera de la Concepción to the municipal cemetery on the Suspiro del Moro road, running every 15 minutes during peak morning and afternoon hours. Additional bus schedules are also designated for November 2 to accommodate attendees heading to the traditional Memorial Mass. Furthermore, a nearby plot in the Las Peñuelas area has been designated and marked as temporary parking for private vehicles.
In La Herradura, local administration teams and maintenance contractors have utilized specialized machinery to upgrade access roads while carrying out extensive gardening and painting works. Local police and civil protection units will maintain an active security and guidance presence around both sites throughout the holiday to ensure smooth visitor flow and assist the public.
