The Granada Airport will debut a new international flight to Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, in September. Transavia will operate these flights with two direct connections per week from Granada to the Dutch city.

The news was announced by the Mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, during the CAPA Airline Leader Summit 2024 held in the city, attended by the delegate of the Andalusian Government in Granada, Antonio Granados, and the President of the Provincial Council, Francis Rodríguez.

Carazo emphasized the significance of this new connection for the city, marking a significant step in recovering international connections post-pandemic. This initiative is expected to boost tourism and the local economy, seizing the available opportunities.

The Provincial Council of Granada expressed satisfaction with the benefits this flight will bring to the region in terms of tourism, culture, and art. They also highlighted the collaboration among various institutions to promote this destination.

Transavia, part of the Air France-KLM group, announced in a press release the details of this new route, starting operations on September 30, 2024, offering two weekly services between Amsterdam Schiphol and Granada. Tickets will be available for booking from mid-April.

With this addition, Transavia expands its route network in Spain, connecting Amsterdam with a total of 15 destinations, including Granada, Eindhoven, Rotterdam, Nantes, Lyon, Paris-Orly, Montpellier, and Brussels.
