The Guardia Civil has taken a 22-year-old man into custody as the primary suspect in the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old youth following an altercation at a nightlife venue in Cúllar Vega. The arrest took place late Tuesday afternoon in Granada after an intensive, priority police investigation.
The incident occurred during the early hours of Saturday, October 10, inside a club located in an industrial estate on the outskirts of Cúllar Vega. According to investigation sources, a confrontation broke out between the victim, identified as Pedro, a resident of the Cartuja neighborhood in Granada, and the suspect. During the dispute—reportedly triggered by a personal conflict—Pedro sustained multiple severe knife wounds.
A staff member from the venue transported the victim in critical condition to the Clínico Hospital in Granada, where he was admitted around 5:00 AM. Despite emergency surgery and intensive medical efforts in the ICU, the young man succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning.
Law enforcement officers swiftly launched a targeted operation to reconstruct the sequence of events. Key evidence came from analyzing the nightclub’s security footage, alongside witness interviews, allowing investigators to identify the suspect despite initial difficulties in gathering clear testimony.
The Guardia Civil maintains open proceedings to clarify the exact circumstances surrounding the assault. The suspect remains in custody and is scheduled to be handed over to judicial authorities on Thursday, October 15.
