Granada’s beaches have been recognized as the best in Andalusia by National Geographic! The travel magazine has compiled a new ranking highlighting the 20 most beautiful beaches in the region, and Granada has secured a privileged place on this list. Despite the fame of the Atlantic beaches, the Granada Costa Tropical continues to attract attention thanks to its stunning natural beauty.
Among the selected ones are four beaches from the Granada coastline, competing with classics like the Mónsul cove or the beach of Zahara de los Atunes in Cádiz. National Geographic describes these beaches as a true paradise, ideal for resting and relaxing in contact with nature and its landscapes.
La Caletilla, located in Almuñécar, ranks sixth on the list. This small beach, appreciated by locals, is described as one of the best in Andalusia, perfect for enjoying with family. La Caletilla Beach offers a unique experience of tranquility and natural beauty, surrounded by the historic San Miguel Castle.
La Cala La Rijana, in Gualchos-Castell de Ferro, ranks thirteenth. This small and paradisiacal cove, accessible through a winding path, is a refuge of peace and natural beauty, ideal for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts.
La Guardia Beach, in Salobreña, is described as one of the most charming corners of the Costa Tropical. With its extensive mantle of gravel and dark sand, it offers a unique landscape with breathtaking views of the historic Salobreña Castle.
Finally, Calahonda Beach, in Motril, stands out for its coarse dark sand and transparent waters. This charming town on the Costa Tropical offers a wide strip of fine sand, ideal for swimming and water sports, surrounded by a picturesque landscape of cliffs and lush vegetation.
With these magnificent beaches, Granada once again demonstrates its position as a premier tourist destination in Andalusia.
